FAQ'S

Why choose a sports therapist?

Vast in-depth knowledge of sports and other related musculoskeletal and occupational injuries.

Expert musculoskeletal injury advice and treatment modalities available to them.

Knowledgeable implementation of musculoskeletal and sports rehabilitation procedures.

Is Acupuncture Safe?

Yes. Sterile disposable needles are always used and a strict Codes of Conduct is followed from the Acupuncture & Healing Practitioners Register.

Does an Acupuncture treatment hurt?

Very little. Your acupuncturist will be using needles which are very fine and flexible. The needles are usually inserted only to a few millimetres. After treatment many report a feeling of relaxation and well-being.

What do I wear during the treatment?

Depending on the primary technique your therapist uses, you may or may not need to undress. For massage therapy you will need to undress down to your underwear. I will give you privacy to undress and you will be covered with towels at all times except the area being worked on.

Where will my treatment session take place?

Your treatment session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room. Soft music may be played to help you relax. You will lie on a table especially designed for your comfort.

Can I claim from my private health insurer?

At this time most private health insurance policies do not include sports therapy or acupuncture. However sports therapy and acupuncture are currently both going through the process of state registration to the Health Professions Council (HPC) which will encourage private health insurers to include both therapies in the near future.
